Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Subsea Systems Engineer to join the advanced engineering team. The role is remote-friendly and supports offshore oil and gas projects globally, focusing on design, specification, and integrity management of subsea production systems.

You will collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and operations personnel, applying deep technical knowledge to ensure reliability and performance of subsea equipment while enjoying flexible work across South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in subsea engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Expert knowledge of subsea production systems, standards (e.g., API, ISO), and best practices.
• Proven experience in technical analysis, problem-solving, and project support.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, select, and specify subsea equipment, including trees, manifolds, pipelines, and control systems.
• Develop and review technical specifications, engineering drawings, and P&IDs for subsea projects.
• Conduct technical reviews of supplier proposals and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Perform integrity management activities, including risk assessments and inspection planning for subsea assets.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases of subsea projects.
• Collaborate with offshore operations teams to diagnose and resolve subsea system issues, offering remote guidance.
