Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Subsea Engineer for offshore projects, based in or near Bloemfontein. You will design, install and maintain subsea production systems and equipment, working in a highly technical team on complex deepwater initiatives.

The role offers exposure to advanced subsea technologies and opportunities to contribute to asset development in the global oil and gas market, with a company committed to innovation and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
Minimum 6 years of experience in subsea engineering.
Proficiency in subsea engineering software and design tools.
Experience with pipeline design, flow assurance, and structural analysis.
Knowledge of subsea control systems and hydraulic power units (HPUs).
Strong project management and multi-disciplinary teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Design, analyze, and specify subsea equipment including trees, manifolds, pipelines, and umbilicals.
Develop installation procedures and ensure compliance with specs and safety standards.
Oversee subsea construction and commissioning activities offshore and onshore.
Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support for subsea systems.
Collaborate with project management, engineering disciplines, and suppliers.
Conduct risk assessments ensuring designs meet safety and environmental requirements.
