Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Subsea Engineer in Stellenbosch to lead technical design and execution of complex subsea field developments. You will mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance across offshore projects.

The role requires 8+ years in subsea engineering, strong knowledge of flowlines, umbilicals, manifolds, and trees, plus experience in project management and client engagement. Stellenbosch-based position with international exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of subsea engineering experience, with field development and project execution in Oil & Gas.
• Proven expertise in subsea hardware design, installation procedures, and integrity management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and specification of subsea field developments, including umbilicals, manifolds, trees, and flowlines.
• Oversee the fabrication, installation, and commissioning of subsea equipment and systems.
• Perform engineering analysis related to subsea structures, hydraulics, and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., API, ISO) and company policies throughout project lifecycles.
• Provide expert technical support during offshore operations and troubleshoot subsea system issues.
• Mentor and guide junior subsea engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
