Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to join their fully remote engineering division, focusing on major infrastructure projects across South Africa. You will design, analyze, and oversee structural elements for bridges, buildings, and other critical infrastructure from a home office.
The ideal candidate has a BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering, Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng, and at least eight years of post-graduate experience with SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional registration with ECSA as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng.
- Minimum 8 years post-graduate experience in structural design and analysis.
- Proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS or STAAD.Pro.
- Strong knowledge of SANS and remote collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for infrastructure components including bridges, viaducts, and commercial buildings.
- Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using industry-standard software.
- Conduct peer reviews of structural designs to ensure adherence to codes, standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines in a virtual setting.
- Undertake site visits and inspections as required, maintaining meticulous records of structural integrity.
- Stay abreast of new materials, technologies, and building codes relevant to structural engineering.
