Placements24 is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will oversee the structural design for major projects, mentor a team of engineers, and ensure safety and compliance across all stages.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Structural Engineering, a PE license, and extensive experience with ETABS, SAP2000, and SAFE. You will collaborate with architects and project managers from a distant location.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
• PE license required.
• Significant experience as a Structural Engineer with leadership capabilities.
• Expertise in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE).
• In-depth knowledge of building codes and standards relevant to structural design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis for various construction projects.
• Mentor and manage a team of structural engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate remotely with architects, project managers, and other consultants.
• Perform complex structural calculations and simulations using specialized software.
• Review and approve shop drawings and construction submittals related to structural elements.
