Placements24 is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Richards Bay to lead the design and analysis of steel, concrete and timber structures for industrial, commercial, and civil projects. The role focuses on safety, integrity and compliance with South African codes, with collaboration across architecture, mechanical engineering and other stakeholders.

The position requires a Pr Eng registration with ECSA, a minimum of six years in structural design, and proficiency with ETABS, SAP2000 or Revit

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
• Strong knowledge of South African structural design codes and best practices.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, and timber structures.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Conduct structural assessments and inspections of existing buildings and facilities.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS and other relevant codes.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers and project stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports, method statements and construction support documentation.
• Manage structural design aspects of projects and ensure timely delivery.
• Liaise with contractors during construction to address structural queries.
• Utilize structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, or Revit Structure.
• Contribute to innovative and cost-effective structural solutions.
