Placements24 requires a highly capable Structural Engineer to join a Centurion-based firm in Gauteng. The role focuses on delivering robust structural designs for commercial, residential, and industrial projects, from concept through construction.

The candidate should have 6+ years of hands-on experience, strong software proficiency (ETABS/SAP2000/SAFE), and sound knowledge of SANS codes. Pr Eng/ECSA registration is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural specialization.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on structural design experience for buildings.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE or similar).
• Strong knowledge of SA building regulations, SANS codes, and international standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for buildings using steel, concrete, and masonry.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications per codes.
• Conduct structural assessments of existing buildings and propose strengthening or refurbishment solutions.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients to coordinate structural requirements.
• Perform site visits during construction to monitor progress and ensure design adherence.
• Review and approve structural shop drawings submitted by contractors.
• Utilize ETABS, SAFE, and Revit Structure for design and modeling.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
