Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis for major infrastructure projects in Centurion, Gauteng. The role requires a PrEng registration and extensive experience with steel, concrete, and timber structures.

You will collaborate with architects and other engineers, produce drawings and reports, and ensure code compliance across projects. A hybrid work model is offered along with competitive compensation and CPD support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering with specialization.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency in structural design software and BIM tools.
• Extensive knowledge of SANS and other relevant codes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Experience with materials (steel, concrete, timber).
• Ability to work in a collaborative team and manage deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for infrastructure projects (bridges, buildings, industrial plants).
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify design and construction quality.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to meet objectives.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Utilize SAP2000, ETABS, Revit for analysis and modeling.
• Assess existing structures for rehabilitation or strengthening.
• Manage project timelines and budgets for structural tasks.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Stay updated with advancements in structural engineering.
