Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Structural Civil Engineer to join our Centurion team. You will contribute to the structural design and safety of diverse projects, from commercial complexes to residential developments, applying rigorous analysis and design of concrete, steel and masonry structures on-site with architects and contractors.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering, is Pr Eng registered with ECSA, and has at least seven years of relevant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in structural design of buildings.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP2000, Prokon) and design tools.
• In-depth knowledge of structural materials, construction techniques, and seismic design principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for various building types, including concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants to resolve design issues and ensure project success.
• Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals from contractors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, including South African National Standards (SANS).
