Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Structural Engineer for its established Centurion practice. You will design and oversee structural integrity of commercial and multi-story buildings, translating architectural concepts into safe, buildable structures.

The role offers exposure to diverse projects, mentoring junior engineers, and collaboration with architects and construction professionals. A professional Eng or Tech Eng registration and 6+ years experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of structural design experience in commercial/multi-story buildings.
• Proficient in structural analysis software and design codes.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze the structural systems for commercial buildings, ensuring compliance with national building codes and standards.
• Develop structural concepts, calculations, and drawings for various materials including steel, concrete, and masonry.
• Collaborate closely with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and construction professionals throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to structural designs.
• Perform structural assessments of existing buildings and propose retrofitting or strengthening solutions.
• Utilize advanced structural analysis software for modeling and simulation.
• Prepare technical specifications, tender documentation, and structural reports.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
