Job summary

Placements24 in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design, analysis and oversight of key infrastructure projects, ensuring safety and quality standards.

You will mentor junior engineers, prepare detailed drawings and calculations, review shop drawings, and collaborate with architects and project managers. PrEng is desirable; a strong portfolio and willingness to travel to sites are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• PrEng registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive structural engineering experience with a strong project portfolio.
• Proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, and Revit Structure.
• Strong knowledge of SANS and other relevant codes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of civil projects including bridges and buildings.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Conduct site visits for inspection and progress monitoring.
• Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
