Qualifications

• Proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, and Revit Structure.
• Strong knowledge of SANS and other relevant codes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of various civil engineering projects, including bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using relevant software.
• Conduct site visits for inspection, monitoring progress, and resolving any structural issues that arise during construction.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
• Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, standards, and regulations in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.

• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare technical reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, Revit Structure).
• Solid understanding of South African National Standards (SANS) and other relevant codes.
• Excellent knowledge of construction materials and techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites in and around Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.
