Job summary

Placements24 in East London, Eastern Cape, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the planning, design and delivery of major infrastructure projects. You will mentor junior engineers, drive technical excellence, and ensure safety and compliance on bridges, buildings and public works.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in structural engineering, a Bachelors or Masters in Civil/Structural, and holds or aims for Pr Eng registration, with proficiency in SAP2000/ETABS/STAAD.Pro and CAD.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in structural engineering for infrastructure projects.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of SA National Standards (SANS) and relevant codes.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed structural analysis and design for bridges, buildings, and public works.
• Prepare design reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Oversee project execution from conception to completion within timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to achieve objectives.
• Provide technical guidance during construction and resolve structural issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and review designs and calculations.
