Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to join a dynamic consultancy in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will design and analyze steel, concrete, and masonry structures for industrial and commercial buildings, and collaborate with architects and contractors through design to handover.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 6 years' experience, a structural engineering degree, and Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA, with strong knowledge of local codes and structural

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) registration with ECSA.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in structural design of buildings.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• In-depth knowledge of South African building codes.

Responsabilidades

• Design and analyze the structural elements of buildings using steel, concrete, and masonry.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Conduct structural assessments and site inspections.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with the National Building Regulations (NBR) and SANS codes.
• Manage structural design aspects of projects from inception to handover.
• Utilize structural analysis and design software (e.g., Prokon, Revit Structure, SAP2000).
• Review shop drawings and respond to construction queries.
• Provide technical advice and solutions for structural challenges.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in structural engineering.
