Placements24 is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer in Klerksdorp, North West. The role focuses on design, analysis, and integrity of steel and concrete structures for heavy industrial facilities, with hands‑on site involvement and cross‑disciplinary collaboration.

You will work on detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with SANS and international codes, while supporting project teams through construction and documentation phases.

Qualifications

• B.Eng. or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng.) is essential.
• Minimum 6 years of post-graduate structural engineering experience, industrial focus.
• Proficient in structural analysis software and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for steel and concrete industrial structures.
• Develop detailed design calculations, drawings, and specs for foundations and platforms.
• Ensure compliance with SANS and international codes (AISC/ACI).
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies for new or modified facilities.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical engineers and project managers on integrated designs.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and construction methods.
• Provide technical guidance to construction teams during erection.
• Maintain project documentation and records.
• Identify structural risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Contribute to value engineering and cost optimization.
