Job summary

Placements24 in Gauteng seeks a dedicated Structural Civil Engineer to lead design and analysis for diverse projects from its Tembisa office. You will develop structural models, prepare drawings and calculations, and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.

The role requires a Bachelors in Civil Engineering with Structural specialization, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency with SAP2000/ETABS/SAFE.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design and analysis.
Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or ECSA registration is highly advantageous.
Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, or similar.
Strong understanding of material properties, construction methods, and building codes.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design for buildings and infrastructure, including foundations, beams, columns, and slabs.
Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using advanced engineering software.
Ensure designs comply with national and international building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Collaborate with architects and other disciplines to integrate structural elements into project designs.
Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
Review shop drawings and respond to contractor queries related to structural aspects.
