Placements24 is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis for diverse building projects in Paarl, Western Cape. You will oversee drawings, calculations, and reports while ensuring safety and code compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Structural Engineering, Pr.Eng. with ECSA, and 7+ years’ building-focused experience, including steel, concrete, and masonry, using ETABS/SAP2000/Prokon. Hybrid work and growth opportunities available.

Formación

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Pr.Eng. registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years post‑graduate experience in structural engineering, focused on building design.
• Demonstrated experience with steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, Prokon, or similar.
• Thorough knowledge of SANS codes for structural design (e.g., SANS 10160 series, SANS 10100 series).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet demanding deadlines.
• Must be based in or able to commute regularly to Paarl, Western Cape.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the structural design and analysis for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and building regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, developers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address any structural issues that may arise.
• Review shop drawings and respond to requests for information from contractors.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
• Stay updated on new materials, technologies, and best practices in structural engineering.
• Perform structural assessments and provide recommendations for existing structures.
