Job summary

Placements24 Randburg is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer specializing in building structures to lead design from concept to completion in a hybrid work environment. You will mentor junior staff, manage key client relationships, liaise with architects, contractors and other consultants, and ensure compliance with SANS and building codes.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Civil/Structural Engineering, 8+ years in building structures, PrEng with ECSA, and proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in structural engineering with a strong focus on building structures.
• PrEng registration with ECSA is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design process for major building projects, including high-rise, commercial, and residential developments.
• Perform complex structural analysis and design calculations using advanced software.
• Produce high-quality structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Mentor and guide junior structural engineers and technicians.
• Liaise with architects, clients, contractors, and other consultants to ensure project objectives are met.
• Conduct site visits and provide technical support during construction phases.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, standards (including SANS), and best practices.
• Contribute to business development and proposal preparation.
