Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, to lead design and analysis for commercial projects. You will develop drawings and reports, inspect sites, and collaborate with project teams to ensure code compliance and project success.

The role requires a PrEng with ECSA, 8+ years in structural engineering, and proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD, and Revit. A hybrid work arrangement is available in this dynamic firm.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
Master's degree is preferred.
PrEng registration with ECSA is essential.

Responsibilities

Lead the structural design and analysis for commercial projects.
Develop detailed drawings, specs, and reports using CAD and structural software.
Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and compliance.
Collaborate with architects, PMs, and stakeholders to meet objectives.
Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
Provide mentorship to junior staff.
Manage timelines and budgets for structural tasks.
Identify innovative structural solutions to improve efficiency.
Stay updated on new engineering technologies and methodologies.
