Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer in Upington with a focus on Structural Engineering to manage the structural design of diverse building projects. You will interact with architects and construction teams to ensure safe, compliant, and innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience, proficiency in Prokon, SAP2000, and ETABS, and a strong grasp of SANS standards, with a collaborative, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with focus on Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in structural design of buildings.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (Prokon, SAP2000, ETABS).
• Knowledge of South African National Standards (SANS) for structural design.
• Experience with concrete, steel, and masonry materials.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for various building types using advanced software.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to verify design implementation and quality.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and other consultants throughout the design process.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to construction challenges related to structural elements.
