Job summary

You will work across all design phases, from concept to construction support, collaborating with architects, project managers and specialists to deliver safe, efficient structures. The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree with a Structural specialization, is registered with ECSA (Pr.

Eng. or Pr. Tech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech. Eng. is required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural engineering design, preferably building projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of projects including commercial, residential and industrial facilities.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications and calculations using CAD and analysis software.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, developers and other engineering disciplines.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS and building codes.
• Review shop drawings and respond to contractor queries during construction.
• Assist in preparing tender documents and cost estimates for structural works.
• Stay updated on advancements in structural engineering materials and techniques.
• Contribute to problem-solving and innovative design solutions.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and sustainability.
