Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer in Mahikeng, North West, focusing on structural design and analysis. The role involves ensuring safety, code compliance and efficient project delivery across commercial, industrial and residential buildings as well as bridges.

You will lead design work, perform detailed calculations, coordinate with architects and construction teams, and supervise site inspections to inform decisions and ensure timely completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree with a strong emphasis on structural engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr.Eng. or Incorporated Engineer preferred.
• Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in structural design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for varied projects including commercial, industrial, residential, and bridges.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards (SANS 10400 and others).
• Conduct site inspections to assess existing structures and inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and construction teams to meet project requirements.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for structural compliance.
• Provide technical support during construction and resolve structural issues.
• Manage structural tasks within project timelines and budgets.
• Stay updated on new materials, technologies and best practices in structural engineering.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
