Placements24 is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer in Cape Town to spearhead high-rise projects and structural design integrity. You will lead a team of engineers, coordinate with architects and PMs, and ensure safe, efficient, and innovative structural solutions.

The role requires a Master's in Structural Engineering, PE registration, and 10+ years of experience, including leadership of complex projects. Expect a hands-on, office-based position in a dynamic Western Cape environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration with ECSA or equivalent.
• A minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering, with significant exposure to high-rise buildings.
• Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
• Expertise in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro) and BIM platforms.
• Thorough understanding of SA National Standards (SANS) and international building codes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsabilités

• Lead the structural engineering design process for complex high-rise and commercial projects.
• Develop innovative and cost-effective structural systems and solutions.
• Mentor and manage a team of structural engineers to maintain technical excellence.
• Perform structural analysis, modeling, and simulations using advanced software.
• Review designs, calculations, and drawings for accuracy and code compliance.
• Collaborate with architects, PMs, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure design adherence.
• Manage project deliverables, timelines, and budgets for structural components.
• Stay updated on advancements in structural engineering technology and materials.
• Prepare comprehensive structural reports and client presentations.
