Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Structural Engineer for a Benoni-based role focusing on the design and delivery of sustainable structural solutions for commercial buildings. You will conduct analyses, develop drawings, and ensure compliance from concept to completion, collaborating with architects and contractors.

A hybrid work arrangement provides flexibility. The ideal candidate has 5+ years post-graduate experience, professional registration with ECSA, and strong knowledge of RC and steel design

Qualifications

• B.Eng. or equivalent in Civil Engineering with Structural specialization.
• Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech. Eng. registration with ECSA.
• 5+ years of post-graduate structural design experience for commercial/multi-story buildings.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools.
• Strong communication and project-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for RC and steel.
• Develop detailed calculations, drawings, and specs.
• Ensure compliance with NBR, SANS, and international standards.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and contractors.
• Manage projects and monitor progress within budget.
• Conduct site inspections and review shop drawings.
• Prepare reports, feasibility studies, and tenders.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
