Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis for diverse building projects in East London, Eastern Cape. You will deliver safe, cost-effective structural solutions, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with SA codes and standards.

The role is on-site in East London with collaboration across architects, clients, and contractors. A PrEng registration and 8+ years of experience are required, with proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Engineering degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in structural design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro) and CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong understanding of concrete, steel, and timber structures.
• Knowledge of South African building codes and construction practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage projects and work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with projects in the Eastern Cape region, particularly East London, is a strong advantage.
