Placements24 seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead complex building projects in Midrand, Gauteng. You will ensure structural integrity, safety and efficiency while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with architects, contractors and clients.

The role requires a Bachelors or Masters in Civil/Structural Engineering, Pr Eng with ECSA preferred, 7–10 years of building-structures experience, and proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• PR Eng registration with ECSA is highly preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, focusing on building structures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis and design for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and reports using relevant software.
• Oversee structural aspects of construction projects to ensure compliance with design and codes.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and clients to resolve design and construction issues.
• Perform site visits and inspections to monitor progress and quality.
• Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals.
• Mentor and guide junior structural engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis and design for a variety of building types, including residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports using relevant software.

• Collaborate with project teams, including architects, contractors, and clients, to resolve design and construction issues.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building structures.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure, AutoCAD).
• In-depth knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and construction practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Experience in Midrand, Gauteng or similar urban development environments is advantageous.
