The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership, and a proven ability to manage complex projects and high-performing teams, driving innovation and technical excellence across cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a management or team lead role.
• Proven experience managing full software development lifecycles for complex applications.
• Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Expertise in multiple programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, React, Angular).
• Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Nelspruit.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Define and implement software development best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
• Collaborate with product management, QA, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and roadmaps.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
• Drive the adoption of Agile methodologies and facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and challenges throughout the development process.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional growth of team members.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement in software development processes and technologies.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of all developed software solutions.
