Placements24 is seeking a visionary Lead Software Development Manager to oversee multiple development teams in Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA. You will guide the full software lifecycle, drive high performance, and mentor development leads and engineers to deliver strategic software projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required; Master's degree preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a management or team lead role.
• Proven track record of delivering complex software projects.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience implementing them effectively.
• Deep knowledge of software development best practices, architectural patterns, and design principles.
• Experience with various technology stacks and programming languages.
• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience managing budgets and resources effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor multiple software development teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle from planning to maintenance.
• Ensure timely, successful delivery of projects aligned with business goals.
• Define and implement best practices for development, QA, and release management.
