Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join a completely remote team. This role leads threat detection, investigation, and response to safeguard the organization against sophisticated cyber threats.

You will mentor junior analysts and shape security operations center practices. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in cyber security analysis, incident response, or SOC operations, with GCIA, GCIH, CISSP, or OSCP being highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in cyber security analysis, incident response, or SOC operations.
• Expertise in SIEM tools, EDR, and other security monitoring technologies.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating system internals, and common attack frameworks.
• Proficiency in threat intelligence gathering and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis of security alerts and events, identifying and prioritizing threats to the organization.
• Conduct in-depth investigations of security incidents, including malware analysis and forensic examination.
• Develop and refine threat hunting methodologies and detection rules for SIEM and other security tools.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of incident response playbooks and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement security enhancements and architectural improvements.
• Stay current with the latest threat intelligence, attack vectors, and cybersecurity trends.
• Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on security best practices.
