Placements24 seeks a Grid Modernization Specialist to join our client in Rustenburg, North West. You will drive smart grid upgrades, SCADA integration, and grid automation enhancements to improve reliability and service delivery.

You will leverage your electrical engineering background and 6+ years in power systems to shape modernization strategy, collaborate with teams, and deliver tangible results across sites.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in power systems engineering, focusing on grid operations or modernization.
• Strong knowledge of smart grid technologies, including distribution automation and grid modernization.
• Experience with SCADA, communications networks, and data analytics in utilities.
• Familiarity with IEEE and IEC standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites within Rustenburg and surrounding areas.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of smart grid technologies, including AMI, SCADA, and grid automation systems.
• Analyze grid performance data to identify areas for improvement and develop modernization strategies.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, external vendors, and regulatory bodies on grid enhancement projects.
• Develop technical specifications and evaluate proposals for new grid technologies and equipment.
• Oversee the testing and commissioning of modernized grid components and systems.
• Ensure all modernization activities comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Provide technical expertise and support for grid operations and maintenance teams.
• Prepare detailed reports and present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively for modernization initiatives.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to ensure the grid remains at the forefront of innovation.
