Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Grid Modernization Engineer in Polokwane, Limpopo. You will lead grid modernization initiatives, including smart metering, ADMS, and DER integration, to improve reliability and efficiency of the grid.

The role requires a strong power systems background, 7+ years in the field, and excellent project management skills. PE registration is a strong advantage; work from Polokwane with regulatory and vendor collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems focus.
• 7+ years in power systems engineering, grid modernization or related fields.
• PE registration (Pr. Eng.) is a strong advantage.
• Experience with SCADA/ADMS/AMI and grid modernization technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design and implementation of grid modernization initiatives.
• Analyze grid performance data and develop technical solutions.
• Evaluate DER integration and control strategies for the grid.
• Develop specifications for new grid technologies and equipment.
• Oversee project implementation, testing, and performance targets.
• Collaborate with vendors, regulators and internal teams.
