Placements24 is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to oversee on-site construction activities in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will supervise site teams, liaise with engineers and clients, and ensure work aligns with designs, quality standards, and safety regulations.

The role demands leadership, strong problem-solving abilities, and a track record of managing civil construction projects. Residential relocation to Stellenbosch is required or preferred.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr Eng, Pr CPM) is advantageous.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in site engineering and construction supervision.
• Experience managing civil engineering construction sites, preferably in building or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., OHS Act).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Must be residentially based or willing to relocate to Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities for assigned projects.
• Ensure construction work aligns with design specifications and quality standards.
• Develop and implement site work plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Oversee subcontractors and direct labour on site.
• Maintain high health, safety, and environmental standards on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
• Manage site documentation, progress reports, and material records.
• Liaise with project manager, design engineers, and clients on progress.
• Resolve site-related technical problems and coordinate timely solutions.
• Mentor junior site engineers and construction staff.
