Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Site Engineer for a key construction role in Midrand, Gauteng. You will oversee all technical aspects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, safety and on-time delivery on large-scale infrastructure projects.

You will lead planning, design review, and execution, supervise subcontractors, monitor progress, and liaise with clients and authorities to resolve issues and maintain compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in civil construction with at least 3 years in a senior site engineering role.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
• In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods and techniques.
• Strong project management principles and software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical guidance and supervision on construction sites.
• Coordinate planning, design review and execution of engineering activities.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, blueprints and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and manage subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee site resources: labour, materials, and equipment for efficiency.
• Develop and implement site safety plans and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare progress reports for project management.
• Resolve technical challenges and conflicts during construction.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and authorities as required.
