Job summary

Aspire Recruiting (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Sales Representative to develop business within a designated territory in South Africa. The role requires strong negotiation, market analysis, and client-relations skills, with a focus on compliance with ISO 22000 and OHS standards.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent is required.
• Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Sales, or a related field is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven sales or marketing experience with commodities.
• At least 3 years of direct experience within the Maize Milling industry.

Responsibilities

• Identify prospective customers, negotiate contracts, and drive product sales across the assigned territory.
• Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and commodity movements to capture sales opportunities.
• Act as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams regarding product specifications, deliveries, stock levels, and issue resolution.
• Implement marketing initiatives and submit detailed sales and performance reports.
• Uphold the organisation’s brand standards and core values in all external interactions.
• Maintain compliance with OHS regulations, food safety protocols, and ISO 22000 standards.

Position Overview

Our Client is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Sales Representative to solicit business within a designated territory. In this role, you will identify potential clients, negotiate contracts, design innovative sales strategies, coordinate stock levels, and drive revenue growth in the commodities and milling sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Sales & Business Development: Identify prospective customers, negotiate contracts, and drive product sales across the assigned territory.

• Market & Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and commodity movements to capture emerging sales opportunities.

• Client Relations & Liaison: Act as the primary link between customers and internal teams regarding product specifications, deliveries, stock levels, and issue resolution.

• Marketing Execution & Reporting: Implement marketing initiatives, assess their effectiveness, and submit detailed sales and performance reports.

• Brand Representation: Uphold and actively promote the organization’s brand standards and core values in all external interactions.

• Compliance & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, food safety protocols, and ISO 22000 quality standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education:

  • National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent required.

  • Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Sales, or a related field is advantageous.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven sales or marketing experience with commodities.

  • At least 3 years of direct experience within the Maize Milling industry.

• Technical Skills & Systems:

  • Strong working knowledge of milling production processes.

  • Familiarity with Food Safety and Quality Management systems (e.g., ISO 22000).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SharePoint.

• Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with access to own reliable transport.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required by the territory.
