Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in rotating equipment for our client in Vereeniging. You will drive reliability, performance monitoring, and proactive maintenance strategies for turbines, pumps, compressors, and generators in a heavy industrial setting.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and hands-on expertise in vibration analysis, thermography, and condition monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with rotating machinery in industrial settings.
• In-depth knowledge of turbines, compressors, pumps and generators.
• Experience with vibration analysis, thermography, and condition monitoring techniques.
• Familiarity with API and ASME codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on selection, installation, operation, and maintenance of rotating equipment.
• Develop predictive and preventive maintenance programs for critical machinery.
• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Oversee major overhauls and repairs, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to specifications.
• Perform performance testing and condition monitoring to ensure optimal efficiency.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams, operations personnel, and vendors to ensure reliability and safety.
