Job summary
Placements24 in Benoni, Gauteng, seeks a Rotating Equipment Engineer to secure the reliability of turbines, pumps and compressors at a major power facility. You will oversee maintenance, troubleshooting and lifecycle management, apply vibration analysis and RCFA, and drive predictive and preventive programs to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
The role requires a BEng Mechanical Engineering and ≥7 years' rotating equipment experience in power, petrochemical or heavy industry, with
Qualifications
- BEng Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years' experience with rotating equipment in power generation or heavy industry.
- Knowledge of turbine technologies, vibration analysis, RCMA and condition monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance, repair and overhaul of rotating equipment incl. turbines, generators and pumps.
- Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
- Conduct RCFA and implement corrective actions.
- Review equipment data, identify trends and recommend optimizations.
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure critical components are available.
- Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams in Benoni.
