Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, offering a hybrid work arrangement. You will manage the lifecycle of critical rotating machinery (pumps, compressors, turbines, motors) to ensure reliability, performance, and safety through design reviews, maintenance strategies, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 7+ years of experience in rotating equipment engineering in industrial settings.
• Strong understanding of pump, compressor, turbine tech including hydraulics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
• Proficiency in vibration analysis and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
• Experience with seals, lubrication, and mechanical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for selection, specification, and procurement of new rotating equipment.
• Conduct RCFA on malfunctions and develop corrective action plans.
• Develop and implement predictive and preventative maintenance programs for rotating machinery.
• Review equipment designs, vendor proposals, and technical documentation for compliance and suitability.
• Monitor equipment performance and analyze operating data for optimization.
