Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a leader in power generation , is seeking a highly skilled Rotating Equipment Engineer to join their state-of-the-art facility in Benoni . This role is critical for ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of all rotating machinery, including turbines, pumps, and compressors, essential for continuous energy production. You will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of these vital assets, contributing directly to the operational efficiency and output of the power plant in Gauteng. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of all rotating equipment, including steam turbines, gas turbines, generators, and large industrial pumps.
• Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Review equipment performance data, identify trends, and recommend optimization strategies.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure the availability of critical components.
• Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance teams and operations personnel in Benoni .

Requirements

• BEng Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience specifically with rotating equipment in power generation, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
• In-depth knowledge of turbine technologies (steam, gas), compressor principles, and pump dynamics.
• Experience with vibration analysis, condition monitoring techniques, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
