Placements24 is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer for field development in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will oversee FDPs, run reservoir simulations, and optimize production while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires 8+ years in reservoir engineering, expertise in ECLIPSE/CMG, and strong economic evaluation skills. You will mentor juniors and drive development projects within a leading energy firm.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related technical field.
• 8+ years of reservoir engineering experience with field development focus.
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (ECLIPSE, CMG).
• Strong understanding of reservoir characterization and petroleum systems.
• Experience with economic evaluation methods and software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to mentor others.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams; Kimberley context familiarity is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute field development plans (FDPs) for new discoveries and mature fields.
• Run reservoir simulations to optimize well placement and production rates.
• Perform reservoir characterization and volumetric calculations.
• Evaluate and select Enhanced Oil Recovery methods.
• Conduct economic evaluations including reserves forecasting and cash flow.
• Integrate subsurface data to guide development decisions.
• Prepare technical reports and present recommendations to management.
• Monitor field performance and adjust strategies to maximize recovery.
• Mentor junior reservoir engineers and share knowledge within the team.
