Placements24 is seeking a Senior Remote Network Installation Specialist to plan, deploy, and maintain complex network infrastructure remotely across South Africa. This role requires deep knowledge of network hardware, cabling standards, and troubleshooting, with the ability to guide junior technicians from a distance.

You will manage projects, ensure safety standards, document configurations, and stay current with new technologies.

Qualificações

• Minimum 5 years of experience in network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, including remote oversight.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, HP hardware.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP and cabling standards (TIA/EIA).

Responsabilidades

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Remotely oversee and manage the installation of network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers, across various client sites.
• Provide expert technical guidance and support to on-site installation teams, ensuring adherence to project plans and technical specifications.
• Develop and review detailed installation plans, schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for network infrastructure projects.
• Conduct remote troubleshooting and diagnostics for network issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineering teams when necessary.
• Ensure all installations comply with industry best practices, safety regulations, and client-specific requirements.
• Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and communication with clients and internal stakeholders regarding installation progress.

• Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for remote network installations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, with a significant portion involving remote oversight.
• Proven experience with various network hardware vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, HP).
• Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, etc.) and structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA).
• Proficiency in using network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and client management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus.
