About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their dynamic and expanding technical team. This role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa . You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures that support critical business operations. This position is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative, virtual environment and possesses a deep understanding of network protocols, security, and performance optimization. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our client's network services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain robust and scalable network architectures across multiple platforms.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive solutions to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency.
• Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure upgrades.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a proven track record in designing and managing enterprise-level networks.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other core routing and switching protocols.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or similar.
• Proficiency in network security principles and best practices, including firewall management and VPN configuration.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and performance analysis techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, team-oriented setting.
