Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our distributed technical operations team. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing our network across multiple locations with no on-site presence in Randburg, delivering secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, firewalls, and cloud networking (AWS/Azure), plus strong remote troubleshooting and strategic upgrade capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network administration and infrastructure management.
• Strong TCP/IP, routing (BGP/OSPF) and network security fundamentals.
• Cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and virtualization experience is advantageous.
• Excellent remote troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and management systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage secure and scalable network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues to ensure high availability.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect data and systems.
• Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization of network devices and protocols.
