Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Loss Adjuster to join a fully remote team handling complex insurance claims across South Africa. You will investigate, assess and negotiate settlements, determining coverage and quantum while maintaining regulatory compliance.

This national role supports multiple lines of business, with a focus on analytical evaluation, effective communication and independent work from a home office. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Loss Adjuster handling complex multi-line claims
• Strong understanding of insurance principles, policy wordings and investigations
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
• Exceptional negotiation, communication and interpersonal abilities for remote client interactions
• Proficiency with digital claims management software and standard office tools
• ACII/CIP qualifications are highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Investigate, assess and report on complex insurance claims across multiple lines
• Conduct site inspections (virtual or in person) and gather evidence and statements
• Analyze policy wordings to confirm coverage and identify exclusions
• Quantify damages and liabilities and prepare comprehensive reports
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders and claimants in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate claim files and ensure regulatory compliance
• Provide expert guidance to insurers on claims matters
• Manage a remote caseload with strong time management
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes
• Liaise with clients, legal counsel and experts as needed
• Utilize digital tools to manage claims remotely
