Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician with strong remote support.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems in industrial machinery.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software, remote access tools and video conferencing.
• Ability to interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Strong communication and ability to explain technical info clearly.
• Ability to work independently in remote settings.
• Relevant technical qualification or certification (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
• Experience in industrial equipment sector is advantageous for Pietermaritzburg remote role.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues on client equipment via remote diagnostics tools and video conferencing.
• Provide timely and effective technical support to on-site personnel, guiding them through maintenance procedures and corrective actions.
• Conduct virtual preventative maintenance inspections and recommend necessary service actions to minimize downtime.
• Maintain detailed service logs and documentation, accurately recording all diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and parts used.
• Collaborate with the engineering and support teams to identify recurring issues and contribute to product improvement initiatives.
• Develop and deliver remote training sessions to client technicians on equipment operation and basic maintenance.
• Manage service schedules and respond to urgent technical requests efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
• Uphold the company's commitment to safety and quality standards in all remote interactions and recommendations.
