Placements24 is seeking a sharp Legal Advisor for a leading financial services institution based in Centurion, Gauteng. The role focuses on strengthening regulatory compliance, monitoring changes, and advising the business on required measures.

You will interpret legislation such as FAIS, FICA, and POPIA, develop policies, conduct risk assessments, and liaise with FSCA. You will translate complex rules into practical business solutions.

Qualifications

• Admitted attorney or equivalent compliance experience.
• ≥6 years in regulatory compliance, preferably within financial services.
• Strong written and verbal communication; translate regulation to business action.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SA financial services legislation and regulatory requirements (FAIS, FICA, POPIA).
• Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures and controls.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits.
• Investigate potential regulatory breaches and advise on remedial actions.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports to authorities.
• Provide training and guidance to business units on compliance matters.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies such as FSCA.
• Advise on regulatory aspects of new product development.
