Job summary

FIFTEEN WEST, part of the 11 Investments Group, is hiring a recruiter-focused strategist in Cape Town. You’ll lead search strategy, map markets, identify candidates, and drive acquisition for retained executive projects while collaborating with delivery and leadership teams.

You will also support market research, business intelligence, and marketing initiatives to strengthen client delivery and internal growth. This role reports to a Co-founder and engages across the research function.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to map talent ecosystems and target companies for searches.
• Skilled in screening candidates to assess motivation, experience, and fit.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and candidates.
• Robust project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple searches.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across levels and functions.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with Canva for marketing materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead market mapping for each search, identifying target companies and talent pools.
• Manage candidate conversations and documentation in the CRM system.
• Source top-tier candidates via LinkedIn and databases for active and future mandates.
• Conduct qualification calls to assess motivation and client-fit.
• Support live searches and deliver strong candidate shortlists to consultants.
• Coordinate profiling interviews using the firm’s interview framework and capture data.
• Support market research and competitive intelligence projects for client delivery.
• Create professional marketing documents and project materials.
• Generate client leads through CV profiling and reference checks.
• Prepare CVs and handle related administrative duties.

Purpose of the Role

You will play a key role in driving the success of our retained executive search projects. You’ll take the lead on search strategy, market mapping, candidate identification, and acquisition, working closely with the delivery and leadership teams to identify and engage high-impact talent for our clients.

Alongside this, you’ll support and occasionally lead a variety of market research, business intelligence, and marketing projects -both to enhance client delivery and to contribute to FIFTEEN WEST’s own growth and strategic initiatives.

You will report directly to a Co-founder and work closely with the wider team to manage the research pipeline, promote collaboration, and champion the achievements and capacity of the research function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on market mapping, identifying target companies, candidate pools, and relevant talent ecosystems for each search.
• Use our customised CRM system to manage, update, and document all candidate conversations, records, and actions.
• Source and identify top-tier candidates using online platforms (e.g., LinkedIn and specialist databases) for active and future mandates.
• Conduct qualification calls with potential candidates to assess suitability, motivation, and alignment with client requirements.
• Support Consultants with the day-to-day management of live searches, ensuring consistent delivery of strong candidate shortlists.
• Conduct structured candidate profiling interviews using the company’s proven interview framework, ensuring all data is accurately captured.
