About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer to join their team in Polokwane . This role is integral to the deployment, optimization, and maintenance of our wireless network infrastructure, focusing on RAN technologies. You will work closely with other engineering teams to ensure the performance, capacity, and reliability of our mobile network services. This hybrid position allows for flexible work arrangements while ensuring hands‑on involvement in field operations and network planning, contributing to the seamless delivery of mobile connectivity across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and commission new RAN equipment (e.g., base stations, antennas) in accordance with network design.
• Monitor RAN performance metrics, identify areas for optimization, and implement tuning strategies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE, and 5G RAN technologies.
• Conduct drive tests and perform network quality analysis to ensure optimal coverage and user experience.
• Collaborate with planning and core network teams to support network expansion and new feature introductions.
• Maintain accurate records of network configurations, performance data, and troubleshooting activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
