Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior RAN Engineer to contribute to Richards Bay's mobile network, shaping 4G/5G deployments, design, optimization and performance management.

You will design, plan, deploy, troubleshoot, conduct site surveys, and collaborate with core network teams to ensure end-to-end service delivery; hybrid work option.

Ideal candidate holds a bachelor's in EE/Telecom and ≥6 years RAN experience with LTE/5G, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Radio Access Network engineering focusing on LTE and 5G.
• Strong knowledge of RAN principles: propagation, antennas, interference management.
• Experience with RAN planning and optimization tools.
• Familiarity with vRAN and cloud-native RAN concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and deploy 4G/LTE and 5G NR RAN solutions, including site selection and integration.
• Optimize RAN performance for capacity, coverage, and QoS using advanced analytics.
• Troubleshoot complex RAN issues: interference, handover failures, performance degradation.
