Job summary

Helderberg Personnel is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead the QS function across multiple projects in Ireland. The role requires a Quantity Surveying degree, and at least 5 years in a consultancy, with strong cost planning, estimating and commercial management skills.

You will provide accurate cost estimates, monitor budgets, advise on procurement and change control, and mentor junior surveyors while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 5 years experience in a consultancy role is essential.
• Strong knowledge of cost planning, estimating, and commercial management.
• Proven experience delivering projects to a successful conclusion.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong leadership capabilities and ability to manage teams and build client relationships.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Building Contracts including Public Contracts.
• Proficiency in Cubit and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Quantity Surveying function across multiple projects.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
• Monitor project costs and cash flow, ensuring projects stay within budget.
• Advise on procurement, risk management, and change control.
• Review and analyse project performance for compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors.
• Manage client relationships and ensure high-quality service and reporting.
