Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for Mossel Bay, Western Cape, to manage costs from estimate to final accounts on coastal development projects.

You will lead cost control, tender evaluation, contract administration, and financial reporting, working with project teams, contractors, and clients to maximise value and profitability while ensuring compliance with JBCC, NEC, and FIDIC frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in managing project costs.
• Experience with JBCC, NEC, and FIDIC contracts.
• Proficiency in cost estimating and financial management software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects.
• Evaluate and negotiate tenders and quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and prepare financial reports throughout the project lifecycle.
• Administer construction contracts, including variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress, identify potential cost overruns, and ensure contractual compliance.
• Provide cost advice and strategic financial planning to project teams and clients.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, contract terms, and company policies.
• Resolve contractual disputes and manage claims efficiently.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
